If you were afraid about frozen shit falling from the skies, then you should read this. In Düsseldorf a meteorite fell right into a bus stop. It broke in pieces, shattering the roof top and luckily no one was hit.

The bench was hit too, traces of fire can be seen. The area was fenced and no one was hurt.Meteorite in Düsseldorf bus station

What if there were people sitting there?

Impressed yet?

And now look carefully at the billboard with the advertising, the one at the left of the bench. The Provinzial insurance company says you should think more than once about insurance in such unforeseen cases.

Hands down to the advertising agency that created such a subtle but effective advertisement.

Yeah, there is no way that this is real…First, a meteorite this size would be quite a scientific find…The Chondrite Meteorite from the Sahara at 21kg (about the size of the one in the picture) recently sold for $19,000! Even iron meteorites sell for thousands of dollars! So yeah…you don’t even need to translate the poster to know it’s fake (btw, the poster is an advertisement for accident insurance)

It’s simply advertising…expensive advertising, but only advertising for that insurance company.
but nice idea anyway

if a meteor fell in a city, and the remains were that big, the city would know it, and so would the rest of the world. the meteor would be deep inside the ground also, and no, that comment does not suck, some people are ignorant and beleive this stuff if no one corrects it

I was looking at the pictures thinking, wouldn’t the bench be more splintered, WHEN IT GOT HIT BY A METEOR! And the glass is just perfect, windex clean
apparently it was two meteors, that hit together, but you know these things happen…

LMAO Great advert.

FYI though, meteorites aren’t usually
hot when they impact. space is very cold and these things have spent millions, if not billions, of years drifting around up there. A few seconds of atmospheric friction will heat up a few millimeters deep on the surface, but the cold will negate that in seconds or less.
As a matter of fact many freshly fallen meteorites are covered in frost when first found.

Funny Ad though.
