The Pig Race
September 23, 2008 - 4,691 views
Not only horses and dogs can race. The Australians came up with another race that involves pigs. You read correctly - big, fat pigs are now racing and people are even betting on them. They take part in the Royal Melbourne Show that takes place each September in Melbourne, Vic, Australia. The stars of the race held today were Ham Bone, Bacon Bone, Pork Chop and Miss Porky Pig. Each pigs is especially trained for the event and compete on a stadium normally used for dogs. See how the oinkers race for the big cup!

I kinda wonder what motivates the pig to actually run? I mean, there is no rider smacking it with a whip, there is no artificial bunny on a motorized rail…So, why does the pig run?

Simple, Ed. Babe simply doesn’t want to be bacon…yet. This is ridiculous! Those poor pigs, preforming a triathlon so the fat, blue collars are amused for awhile. Poor pigs. They are so smart; they don’t deserve this.
hhh. thats very funny:)
I personally think pig racing and diving should be an olympic sport - we already have horse riding so why not pig racing? Pigs are cuter then horses, no?
