The Snake Taming Festival
Every year, people come from all over India to pay homage to the goddess of the snakes, Manasha, daughter of lord Shiva. Created to celebrate the mighty goddess, the Jhapan festival in Bishanupur is a freaky round-up of some of the best snake tamers in all the land. Each artists brings its assistants and sets camp on the street. He then starts charming the snake which leaves the box he was in slowly. He starts touching the snake, juggling with it and even kissing it. Surprinsingly, the snake never strikes.
