I assure you it’s real. It’s as real as the 5 footed lamb or the two headed goat. It’s like asking if Siamese twin humans are real. This snake isn’t a species, it’s a mutation. The species is a California King Snake, it looks like, and these guys aren’t venomous. King snakes are a bit aggressive, but the two heads would probably make it less effective at biting you, so I honestly don’t understand your fear. I feel a bit sorry for the guy, but I’m glad it’s lived this long in the wild. There have been other instances with two headed snakes, or snakes with two mouths and three eyes, or snakes born without one or two eyes and such. Usually they’re an unfortunate result of inbreeding from collectors.
