The most expencieve tea is by far not Tie Guan Yin, the picture doesn`t even show the same tea, anyway there are many award wining special teas with the price above 300 $/100 grams.
Probably the most expenceive tea is the Wu Yi Da Hong Pao from the original 4 mother bushes, but most is reserved to the chinese guvernment, once the american president got 50 grams of it and he felt offended, later he was told that only 200 grams was the total harvest and it is the most expenceive tea in the world, and another high priced tea is the 50`s Hong Yin (red label) Pu erh that was sold on an auction for 10.000 $ for a cake that is around 357 grams.
The famous teafarms, specialy those that produce the 10 most famous chinese teas hold auction for the motherbush teas, Long Jing old bushes are around 800 years old and those teas are more than TGY, a tea that is very good and one of the best known oolongs in southeast asia, and in japan, but the picture shows another tea.
