There are some things you need to try at least once in your lifetime. Jumping from a plane, seeing the 7 wonders of the world or eating in one of these 10 unique restaurants. One of these are bound to give you an the offbeat dining experience you’ve been looking for.

Toilet Restaurants As odd as this might seem, toilet restaurants have been around for several years and are quite popular in Asian countries. People enjoy for some reason eating in a toilet-like environment, from a mini bowl, with some kind of poop shaped decoration next to their food. Considering the recent hype brought from Western media and bloggers, toilet restaurants are slowly but steadily becoming an icon for Taiwan, just as eating fugu is Japan’s icon and live octopus in Korea’s.

2. Aurum Restaurant This is Singapore’s first molecular gastronomy restaurant, described as a hospital-themed dining experience. The dining consists of sitting on golden wheelchairs and eating off steel surgical tables. Cooking methods differ from the one of original restaurants - they cook food at low temperature on in a vacuum, some including liquid nitrogen, syringes and metal canisters. They say liquid nitrogen makes the tastiest and smoothest sorbet.

3. Dog Restaurants This would either mean a restaurant where both people and their dogs can dine or where the waiters are trained dogs — one assigned to each table. Spread all over the US, but other countries as well, these restaurants usually serve their dishes on plates and chairs are made so that dogs and cats can go up and down easily. Human chairs are also present so that the owner can accompany their pets. As for the restaurant with trained dogs, the barkers are trained not to eat your food, they might not even drool over it. As a tip, you are advised to give them dog biscuits.

4. Condom Restaurant One of the sickest ones yet, the Cabbages and Condoms Restaurants offer, according to their website “pleasant dining experience in several locations around Thailand.” Here is one of the few places you shouldn’t be surprised if your waiter drops off a condom with your bill at this restaurant. Apparently, contraceptive awareness is one of the main issues at the restaurant. Everything is condom themes: condom-clad mannequins, a collection of condoms from around the world, and various posters advocating family planning. Bon appetite? I already lost mine!

5. Bed Restaurants A more widespread option for a unique dining experience are the restaurants that server your dinner in bed. 9. Hadaka Sushi or “Sushi gone naughty” is an X-rated restaurant down Sunset Strip, taking dinning to another level. “Hadaka” is the Japanese word for “naked,” so you should be tipped of right away. 10. The Dark Restaurant oppened two years ago in Beijing, CHina, is the perfect place if you enjoy eating in total darnkess, like the good old times when electricity is scarce. Customers are given night vision goggles and walked into pitch dark dining rooms where they’ll try finding their seats and eventually eating. Flashlights, mobile phones and even luminous watches are prohibited in the location. They believe that, by temporarily losing one sense, the other ones are stimulated. Luckily, the toilets are lit.
