Animals in the Womb
If you ever wanted to know what goes on in the animal’s belly before giving birth, here’s your chance to find it out. With a state-of-the-art four-dimensional scanning technology, scientist can now reveal some of the secrets of mammalian embryonic development. In the early development stages, it’s hard to tell apart an elephant from a dog. Here’s 3 types of animal embryos.

With of gestation period of around 60 days, the dog embryo has only 2cm halfway through the pregnancy. At 60 days, the dog already has developed hair, nails and paw pads.




Finally, the dolphin embryo is 1.5 centimetres long after 1 month of gestation. The process lasts for 11 months, while the animals swim in amniotic fluid.
