A Day At The Beach

September 11, 2008

There’s something particularly fascinating when it comes to women in Middle East. It’s probably the hidden faces or the countless restrictions they have to face on a daily basis. Since we’ve already tackled how Islamic women have fun, we thought we’d take a look at a how one of the girls goes for a swim. It might seem as a totally common picture, but it struck me as odd and unusual.

Tattooed Oinkers

September 10, 2008

I understand pet jewelry at some point, but when it comes to tattooing them I’m like WTF… After taking a look at some of the freakiest tattoos a guy can have, we’re going to focus on these cool, bad-ass oinkers with some seriously mean tattoos. Several artists, probably vegetarian, have decided to tattoo these animals as a publicity stunt for a few farms. In case you’re a PETA activists, know that the pigs don’t feel a thing since they’re sedated and they’re less likely to be butchered since they’re an art piece now.

Bush Countdown

September 9, 2008

The Americans are sick and tired of Bush’s tyranny. They’ve had it up to here with his reign and the ongoing war. They’re counting every day, every second. The Cool Ice Sculpture Festival

September 5, 2008

There’s something cool and inviting about ice sculptures, probably the fact that they’re made with a chainsaw. This year, the Russians seems to compete with the Harbin Ice Festival in terms of creativity. 90 tonnes of ice sculptures are kept below zero at the annual festival held at Moscow’s Krasnopresnensky Park. So if you too love ice sculptures, this festival has a dedicated surface of 500 square meters. As the little girl said in the video, it truly is a fairytale.

A Special Kind of Graffiti

September 3, 2008

Vitaly Rusakov, known as Mizer - an underground artist from Russia has some really great artworks that you can come across in Yekaterinburg. These illustrations may not be in line with the sometimes obscene images or messages graffiti usually transmit, but that is why it’s more interesting. Here are some peaceful, fun and creative artworks I wouldn’t mind finding on my wall.

Show Me Some Love, Woman!

September 3, 2008

In most of the Western society, women show us love by cooking for them, washing clothes or taking care of the brats while we watch the game, play poker or other uber-masculine activities. In Asia, it’s a tad different. Women are so “headstrong” that they do all the heavy lifting, managing to transport even 10 bricks on their head. Either these women are so good at construction or their men are really lazy and inconsiderate.
