Gemina was born in 1986, in San Diego. There no sign of deformities so Gemina was taken to a zoo Santa Barbara, when she was about one year. The giraffe continued to act and look normally for three years, but soon, her spine started to brake little by little in the neck area. The spine deformity became so obvious that it was hard to overlook. A similar case was registered in the early 1900s. The scientists, zoologists and veterinarians have been unable to find the explanation for this.

She might be ugly, but Gemina lived a long life. In late 2007 - early 2008, Gemina started feeling the effects of old age and eventually died at the beginning of this year. Here’s how Gemina looked like.

I have a “sideshow” folder in my pics -focuses on acardiac monsters, anencephalia and cyclopia, but also has misc. for just about anything weird that is congenital. This will probably go into the “animals” files (fish with 2 mouths, pig with a human face, 2-headed cattle, …)
