You know Arabs are just like Americans just like Canadians just like Britons just like Africans just like Indians, we all have different cultures that to the other might look a little silly/crazy/stupid (i mean, tractor pulls?). Whats really disturbing is that we as a hole have yet to understand that concept. Inside our minds/body’s we are all the same and its really about time to understand we all really can get along. You are correct arabs are just like any other humans and your criticism upon erichansa is well noted also just because he/she finds another culture is funny does not make him/her an ignorant aggressor. Also no one has a good point, these women are oppressed, having many of their basic human rights ignored, what is the point of taking a picture when you can’t even tell which one is you. Its sad seeing on how these women have been forced to put these gowns on.

I think the Islamic people of the world need to improve their ninjas if they want to compete on the world stage.
Existence does not make their culture acceptable, just as some facets of our own culture are unacceptable to some people. Imagine being beaten for wearing a red shirt. This is what they face, should they try and buck the enforced religious tenants.

It kills me that women are forced to hide themselves because the males in their society can’t take ownership of the own basic nature. They force women to hide themselves, why? Because they may be tempted somehow? And that is the women’s fault? So they oppress them is some way to be holier? That is so not taking ownership of your own shit and blaming someone else for it. I am totally fascinated by other cultures and different perspectives but here we have an entire faith and culture with this people built upon not realizing and accepting the fact that we are just human. Then they brand it as faith or religion which is just another bullshit excuse for not owning your own shit!! Grow up already and gain some kind of awareness of who you are as a person. Stop oppressing people who are less strong. If you were actually strong you be righteous with temptation. Be loving without oppression. Then your faith might actually mean something good. The only thing constant in life is change. Without change we would all die. Without learning and growing and loving, you are not actually living.

No, no, no. People are *basically* the same everywhere - they aren’t identical. There are still cultural differences, and different opinions on “freedom”, especially when religious views come into it. You can’t possibly say what these women would do “if they could” without knowing them. Some people think that women in our culture are “oppressed” to some extent by the expectation on them to make themselves attractive. Doubtless there are people in Iran who see pictures of western women in high heels, short skirts and five pounds of makeup and think those women would drop it all if they had the opportunity. I’m not saying I agree with the veil, but you cannot say for certain that a “free girl” would never wear it out of choice.
It’s nice to see things like this. We’re all really the same deep down.

As retarded as it sounds, I’ve always wondered how these girls recognize one another, or how the men recognize the women.
What else can you expect when their religion defines women as:
“They are dirty beings”
“Women are worth less than half of a men”
“Their very existence distracts men from focusing on Holy God. So they must cover themselves up”.
In the Middle East, men are free to hit on girls and do whatever they want, but if a girl is as much as seen with other men, their lives are in danger.

The real problem with Islam is that Islam does not allow religious freedom. The punishment for leaving Islam in Sharia is death - and more and more countries with Muslim populations are rejecting human rights and implementing Sharia or Sharia inspired laws. With petrodollars, Saudi Arabia in particular is able to fund and promote their hate filled ideology around the world.
A recent example of a Sharia inspired action is where a Saudi man cut out the tongue and burned to death his daughter who had converted to Christianity.

Perhaps to top the story off, the man is now wanted by the Saudi government. Not for the fact that he killed his daughter (because she had converted to Christianity she had to be killed, as Saudi Arabia follows Sharia), but because he had denied the State their right to kill the girl.

THE nation’s most senior Muslim cleric has blamed immodestly dressed women who don’t wear Islamic headdress for being preyed on by men and likened them to abandoned “meat” that attracts voracious animals.
In a Ramadan sermon that has outraged Muslim women leaders, Sydney-based Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali also alluded to the infamous Sydney gang rapes, suggesting the attackers were not entirely to blame.
While not specifically referring to the rapes, brutal attacks on four women for which a group of young Lebanese men received long jail sentences, Sheik Hilali said there were women who “sway suggestively” and wore make-up and immodest dress … “and then you get a judge without mercy (rahma) and gives you 65 years”.
“But the problem, but the problem all began with who?” he asked.
The leader of the 2000 rapes in Sydney’s southwest, Bilal Skaf, a Muslim, was initially sentenced to 55 years’ jail, but later had the sentence reduced on appeal.
In the religious address on adultery to about 500 worshippers in Sydney last month, Sheik Hilali said: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?
“The uncovered meat is the problem.”
The sheik then said: “If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred.”
He said women were “weapons” used by “Satan” to control men.
“It is said in the state of zina (adultery), the responsibility falls 90 per cent of the time on the woman. Why? Because she possesses the weapon of enticement (igraa).”
Muslim community leaders were yesterday outraged and offended by Sheik Hilali’s remarks, insisting the cleric was no longer worthy of his title as Australia’s mufti.
Young Muslim adviser Iktimal Hage-Ali - who does not wear a hijab - said the Islamic headdress was not a “tool” worn to prevent rape and sexual harassment. “It’s a symbol that readily identifies you as being Muslim, but just because you don’t wear the headscarf doesn’t mean that you’re considered fresh meat for sale,” the former member of John Howard’s Muslim advisory board told The Australian. “The onus should not be on the female to not attract attention, it should be on males to learn how to control themselves.”
Australia’s most prominent female Muslim leader, Aziza Abdel-Halim, said the hijab did not “detract or add to a person’s moral standards”, while Islamic Council of Victoria spokesman Waleed Ali said it was “ignorant and naive” for anyone to believe that a hijab could stop sexual assault.
“Anyone who is foolish enough to believe that there is a relationship between rape or unwelcome sexual interference and the failure to wear a hijab, clearly has no understanding of the nature of sexual crime,” he said.
Ms Hage-Ali said she was “disgusted and offended” by Shiek Hilali’s comments. “I find it very offensive that a man who considers himself as a mufti, a leader of Australia’s Muslims, can give comment that lacks intelligence and common sense.”
Yesterday, the mufti defended the sermon about “adultery and theft”, a recorded copy of which has been obtained and translated by The Australian.
Sheik Hilali said he only meant to refer to prostitutes as “meat” and not any scantily dressed woman with no hijab, despite him not mentioning the word prostitute during the 17-minute talk.
He told The Australian the message he intended to convey was: “If a woman who shows herself off, she is to blame … but a man should be able to control himself”. He said if a woman is “covered and respectful” she “demands respect from a man”. “But when she is cheap, she throws herself at the man and cheapens herself.”
Sheik Hilali also insisted his references to the Sydney gang rapes were to illustrate that Skaf was guilty and worthy of receiving such a harsh sentence.
Waleed Ali said Sheik Hilali was “normalising immoral sexual behaviour” by comparing women to meat and men to animals and entirely blaming women for being victims.
“It’s basically saying that the immoral response of men to women who are not fully covered is as natural and as inevitable as the response of an animal tempted by food,” he said.
“But (unlike animals) men are people who have moral responsibilities and the capability in engaging in moral action.”
Revelation of the mufti’s comments comes after he criticised Mr Howard last month in The Australian for saying a minority of migrant men mistreated their women. Sheik Hilali said such a minority was found in all faiths. “Those who don’t respect their women are not true Muslims.”
“There’s a small percentage found among all religions, but we don’t recognise ours as Muslims.”
Aziza Abdel-Halim said Sheik Hilali’s remarks during Ramadan were inaccurate and upsetting to the Muslim community.

The Prophet consummated his marriage with me in my house when I was nine years old.” Given a choice, I believe most people would prefer to get their spiritual inspiration from someone who wasn’t a sexual predator.
Muhammad struggled to justify his behavior. Bukhari:V9B86N98 “The Prophet said, ‘A virgin should not be married till she is asked for her consent.’ ‘O Apostle! How will the virgin express her consent.’ He said, ‘By remaining silent.’” Bukhari:V9B87N139-40 “Allah’s Apostle told Aisha, ‘You were shown to me twice in my dreams [a.k.a. sexual fantasies]. I beheld a man or angel carrying you in a silken cloth. He said to me, “She is yours, so uncover her.” And behold, it was you. I would then say to myself, “If this is from Allah, then it must happen.”‘”

THeir dress is NOT something that has to do with them being arab, nor does it have to do with them being muslim.
It is a cultural thing ADAPTED by certain followers of islam. There are many other countries were women are not forced to hide in such ways - where islam is practiced. Just as there are many Arab countries that are the same.

One of you did not talk about the benefits of such garments. You talked about how these girls forced to wear. God created us all equal and Give us the right choice and sent messengers to lead us through the rectum. All Muslim believers carry out duties of God. Our women do not wear fear of their men, but a faith in God.
