The Plot
Based on Jeff Kinney’s novel of the same name, Dairy of a Wimpy Kid is a comedy that focuses on pre-teen, Gregg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), a snarky young student trying to endure all the struggles and indignities of middle school and dealing with the embarrassing adults in his life.
The Good
* A charming family-friendly flick both kids and adults can enjoy
* Something everybody who wasn’t a jock or cheerleader in middle school can identify with
* The young actors are funny, natural and believable..
* It’s kind of nice to see a children’s film that doesn’t depend upon a load of special effects to make it interesting, but has solid characters you can empathize with
The Bad
* A little cliched and predictable at times, but that’s okay
The Verdict
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is well-worth the price of admission. Parents and kids, alike, should enjoy this film.
