Once again, it’s time for Wacky’s Top 5 Reality Moments of the Week
HOOCHIE WEEK (MEDIA)
This week was the week that mistresses of the rich and famous made the news headlines in force. We had quite a selection to choose from.
Rielle Hunter, mistress of John Edwards continued to be a topic, thanks to her GQ interview. Ex-porn star Joslyn James released more of Tiger Woods’ raunchy text messages. Michele McGee, a bizarre, tattooed stripper, went public to disclose her affair with Jesse James, hubby of recent Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.
Apparently, these chicks are trying to milk whatever attention and/or profit they can from their dalliances with their well-known lovers before they,mercifully, return to anonymity.
THE PRICE OF BEAUTY
Jessica Simpson returns to reality television, this time with a show where she travels the world, along with equally clueless companions Cacee Cobb and Ken Paves, to examine beauty standards of various culture.
This week they traveled to Thailand where they ate bugs, sat in a ceremony with a tribe that equates beauty with the number of neck rings a woman has and insulted a Taoist monk by giggling as he prayed. Simpson’s comments are often ditzy and insensitive, but that’s no surprise.
You can hardly expect a woman to respect the cultures of others when she is so painfully ignorant of her own.
OPERATION REPO MARATHON
This reality show revolves around Matt Burch, Luis Pizarro, Lyndah Pizarro and Sonia Pizzaro, as they go to repossess cars, trucks, motorcycles and the like from a host of violently resistant delinquent payers. I found myself glued to my set during a weekly marathon of episodes.
Operation Repo is cheesy, tacky, obviously staged and so bad it’s good.
THE MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER
This week, Patti worked overtime to find dates for two hard-to-please clients.
Self-absorbed Douglas went out with David, with disastrous results because of Douglas’s narcissistic ways
and because he criticized David for wanting to order beef. Nicole, a condescending, eco-friendly perfectionist selected Bruce and took him on a tour of toxic waste sites before going out to dinner with him and refusing to kiss him. Unbelievably, Bruce actually agreed to go out with this ice queen again, but, after she only gave him a peck on the cheek on their second date, he skidattled.
